Fall 2024
Dear Families,
Park County RE-2 School District has participated in the Colorado School Health Services Program for many years. As a District we spend a great deal of our resources to provide our students with direct health services that include, but aren’t limited to speech language pathology, occupational therapy, mental health counseling, nursing services and more. It is our genuine belief that strong bodies leads to strong minds, and a strong future for our community. Every one of our students deserves the best quality of care during their time with us.
To continue providing these health services for all students, our District bills Medicaid for reimbursement costs for Medicaid eligible students. This in NO WAY affects a student’s or a family’s personal Medicaid benefits or lifetime maximums. There is no adjustment or impact made to your child’s or family’s Medicaid quotas or care. The Student Health Services program simply allows Park County School District RE-2 to receive Medicaid reimbursement funds for the services we provide.
The fraction of the cost the District receives in reimbursement from Medicaid is invaluable to the maintenance and growth of our Student Health Services Program, for all our students. All of the funds received in reimbursement from Medicaid are mandated to be put back into our Student Health Service Program to improve IEP services, and health-related services for ALL District students. Every penny received by the District through Medicaid reimbursement is mandated to be used only for IEP and health-related services.
Parental consent is required to allow Park County School District RE-2 to bill Medicaid for reimbursement for the services a student receives at school. The granting of consent is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time. If your student/child receives health services through an IEP/Behavioral Plan/Health Plan and you haven’t already, please sign the Medicaid Reimbursement form attached.
Thank you for helping to support the Park County RE2 Student Health Services Program and our students. There is more information on our School Health Services program on our District website (www.parkcountyre2.org) under Parent Resources. You are welcome to learn more!
Please reach out to me directly if you have any questions.
